How can I use the Refinitiv API to get all the fields for a bond

Hi,

I am trying to get all the information for a bond such as identifiers, issue date, Subtype, effective date for a bond. I have the ISIN.

How do I do this using the Refinitiv API (either DSS or Eikon)?

Hello @Ratnakar ,

Would like to suggest reviewing the following DSS REST approach.

Please refer to DSS REST API Reference for Terms & Conditions request and response. Does this information satisfy your requirement? If yes, then REST API Tutorial 7: On Demand T&C extraction and .Net SDK Tutorial 8: On Demand: Terms & Conditions show how to implement this request programmatically, with and without DSS .Net SDK.

In tutorial, please also note call Tuto-7a: List available fields for Terms & Conditions

{
                {protocol}}{
                {host}}{
                {api}}Extractions/GetValidContentFieldTypes(ReportTemplateType=ThomsonReuters.Dss.Api.Extractions.ReportTemplates.ReportTemplateTypes'TermsAndConditions')

this is another way to reference all available fields for the request and cross-check them against your requirements, via DSS REST.

ISIN is one of the identifiers that can be used to request T&C via DSS REST, for example:

{
                {protocol}}{
                {host}}{
                {api}}Extractions/ExtractWithNotes

{
    "ExtractionRequest": {
        "@odata.type": "#ThomsonReuters.Dss.Api.Extractions.ExtractionRequests.TermsAndConditionsExtractionRequest",
        "ContentFieldNames": [
           "RIC", "CUSIP", "ISIN", "SEDOL", "Issuer OrgID", "Currency Code"
        ],
        "IdentifierList": {
            "@odata.type": "#ThomsonReuters.Dss.Api.Extractions.ExtractionRequests.InstrumentIdentifierList",
            "InstrumentIdentifiers": [
                { "Identifier": "00209tab1", "IdentifierType": "Cusip" },
                { "Identifier": "IBM.N", "IdentifierType": "Ric" },
                { "Identifier": "US4592001014", "IdentifierType": "Isin" },
                { "Identifier": "B1YW440", "IdentifierType": "Sedol" }
            ]
        }
    }
}

Hello @Ratnakar ,

Using Eikon Data API you have an option of using Data Item Browser tool in Eikon desktop or Refinitiv Workspace desktop to select an instrument, in your case, select bond by ISIN, and to explore all the fields that are available for the instrument via Eikon Data API.

For example:

bonddib.gif

Using DIB to select a bond and examining all the available fields. These fields will be available to you for retrieval using Eikon Data API.

For example:

bondgetdata.gif

bonddib.gif (214.9 KiB)
bondgetdata.gif (27.4 KiB)
